Introduction of Abdul Rasheed Shakoor
Abdul Rasheed Shakoor is a passionate and principled sports journalist whose entire life and career have been rooted in honesty and integrity.
He began writing about sports during his student days and, through dedication and hard work, earned recognition as a credible and accomplished sports journalist.
Throughout his long and distinguished career, he has been associated with Cricketer Pakistan, Daily Hurriyat Karachi, Daily Pakistan Lahore, and Daily Express. In addition, he has contributed articles to Akhbar-e-Watan and Independent Urdu. For several years, he was also part of Radio Pakistan’s popular program Alami Sports Round-Up.
Abdul Rasheed Shakoor served as the BBC Urdu Sports Correspondent in Pakistan for 30 years, during which he also presented the renowned program Khel Ke Maidan Se.

He has reported both domestically and internationally on major sporting events, including the Olympics, as well as cricket, hockey, snooker, and squash.
His coverage includes over 400 international cricket matches, featuring Test matches, One Day Internationals (ODIs), and T20 Internationals. His impressive resume also includes six 50-over World Cups, five T20 World Cups, and five Asia Cups.
He is also the author of the biography of former British Open squash champion Qamar Zaman. Currently, he runs his own YouTube channel titled “2nd Innings by Shakoor.”
